Walk to the trade fair instead of queuing for it
From Cottaer Straße it is 1.3 kilometres to Messe Dresden in the Ostragehege – about twenty minutes on foot, five by bike.
Why trade fair visitors are better off here
During fairs the hotels around the old town are expensive and the approach to the Ostragehege is congested. From Friedrichstadt you avoid both: you walk or cycle, and your car stays in the garage.
Exhibitors also get what a hotel room does not offer: a kitchen for breakfast at six, a dining table where the team can sit down in the evening, an iron, and an invoice with the accommodation tax shown separately.
